Noir

Deep in the night when everything felt alright,
You see me sitting by the window, painting my diary noir.
You mistake the black as the absence of light,
You get up to bring me a lantern,
Giving me few minutes in the quiet.

You ask, how I knew my way around the words and a blank page,
I forgive you,
for you don’t know there are poems inside of me that knows the darkness too well.

I smiled the brightest but your question, I ignored…
It will take a lifetime to wind up my story and for it to conclude,
You were hurt but I was amused,
For I know silence kills more than a truth ever could.

Mid in the night when nothing felt alright,
You see me sitting in the corner, painting my diary noir.
You mistake the black as the absence of light,
You get up to part your way,
leaving me alone in the quiet.

I clench on my ink pen, watch it turn into a magic wand,
With the nights like these, I didn’t wait for the dawn,
I have been in the dark, so darkness I became,
I don’t want Nirvana, it’s bliss to burn in this flame.

If I can’t bend the heaven, I sure can raise the hell.
You forgot there are poems inside of me that knows darkness too well.
